Tourism Australia triumphed as overall winner of the World Routes Awards 2013 which were formally announced last night at the Las Vegas Networking Evening which took place at the Garden of the Gods in Caesar's Palace. It was one of five section winners that were considered for the overall prize, beating off competition from Darwin Int'l Airport (under 4m pax), San Diego Int'l Airport (4-20m pax), Copenhagen Airport (20-50m pax) and Changi Airport Group (over 50m pax), having one the destination marketing award. Capacity constraints at Mexico City must be urgently addressed, a panel on Latin American aviation said today at World Routes. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the sole regulator of all licensed airfields within the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has certified Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC) for passenger operations after assessing and confirming full compliance of the aerodrome with its stringent requirements. Berlin’s airports are on track to add another one million passengers this year, Dr Till Bunse, senior vice president marketing and sales for Berlin Brandenburg Airport, told The HUB during this year's World Routes in Las Vegas. Dublin Airport has just recorded 14 months of continuous year-on-year passenger growth, which has helped the airport add more than one million additional passengers over the past year.
